Bushra Morshed Ahona is a Lecturer in the Department of English at International Standard University (ISU), Bangladesh. She holds an MA in Applied Linguistics & ELT and a BA in English Language & Literature from Notre Dame University Bangladesh, receiving the Cum Laude Award. Her current research interests further extend to Artificial Intelligence, decolonization in language and education, generational language change, and the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and psycholinguistics.
Her research interests primarily focus on Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics, English Language Teaching, translanguaging, learner autonomy, acculturation and language learning, and self-access language learning. Her postgraduate research examined learner autonomy and outcome-based education through a case study of Self-Access Language Learning Centers (SALLCs) in Bangladeshi universities. Her undergraduate research explored the role of acculturation in Indigenous students' English language acquisition at the tertiary level in Bangladesh. She has also conducted research on translanguaging and its role in Second Language Acquisition in the context of private university education in Bangladesh.
She has presented research at national inter-university academic conferences, including the 7th Inter-University Student Conference and Cultural Competition at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and Discover English 2022: Student Conference on English Language and Literature at American International University-Bangladesh. Alongside teaching and research, she has demonstrated leadership in academic and extracurricular activities through various positions in university and language clubs, including serving as President of the NDUB English Club and Moderator of the Xaverian English Language Club.
