Md. Ashikul Islam Dollar is an academic and language professional with a background in Applied Linguistics, English Language Teaching, university-level teaching, translation, proofreading, and academic communication. He completed both his Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Master of Arts (MA) degrees in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching (ALELT) from Jahangirnagar University.
He has experience teaching English language and communication courses at the university level. He has served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Southeast University and Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX). His teaching experience includes English language and communication, public speaking, pronunciation and phonetics, and other language-related courses. He has worked with students from diverse academic and disciplinary backgrounds and has experience designing and delivering classroom instruction, assessments, presentations, and practical language-learning activities.
Alongside his academic career, he has developed professional experience in translation, proofreading, and content writing. His professional language work has included translation and editing assignments for institutional, development, cultural, and professional organizations. Among his notable assignments are translation work related to World Bank materials and publication-related translation and proofreading projects. He has also contributed as a translator and proofreader to projects involving Bangla-English language services and professional communication.
His combined experience in teaching, translation, proofreading, and content development has enabled him to work extensively with both English and Bangla in academic and professional contexts. His areas of interest include effective language pedagogy, sociolinguistic issues, communication skills, academic and professional writing, and the practical application of linguistic knowledge in language education.
