Ms. Pinak Sarkar is a Lecturer in the Department of Law, International Standard University, with an excellent academic and mentorship record. She received an LLM from Jagannath University while ranking first in her cohort and an LLB from BRAC University with High Distinction.
Ms. Sarkar has worked in support and mentoring roles throughout her undergraduate and postgraduate career, leading up to more than 4 years of cumulative experience in academia before she officially joined as a Lecturer. Her first role was as a Student Tutor and Mentor at BRAC University, where she provided academic consultations and mentored first-year students through their transition to university life. She went on to serve as a Course Assistant for a transnational OSUN course and subsequently as a Teaching Assistant in BRAC University
Ms. Sarkar’s approach to teaching is rooted in empathy, inclusivity and critical analysis of the law. She maintains a strong research interest in a range of women’s rights and legal protection and incorporates feminist legal theory and contemporary social issues. Her sustained interest in teaching and mentoring demonstrates her passion for developing the next generation of lawyers and legal scholars. Her research and teaching engage with critical legal thinking and serve to advocate for marginalized communities. She is dedicated to creating a new generation of critical thinkers and empathetic advocates who will genuinely be able to help the world beyond the courtroom.
